Thanksgiving 2009!!!

This is a couple of months late, but we had Taylor and Preston down for Thanksgiving. We had a great time. All the boys played in our stake turkey bowl. The day after Thanksgiving we took them to Joshua Tree National Park for the day. We had a great time.

Halloween!!!!!!

Little Tea had a great time on Halloween. We let her pick out her costume this year, in my opinion it wasn't quite as good as baby Elvis, but still fun. We weren't sure if she would get the whole trick or treat thing, but she caught on pretty quick.

Pumpkins

A little late in the season, but here is some of the fun we had in October. This was Teagan's and Mommy's Pumpkin inspired by the trash muppets in Elmo's Grouchland. It's Tea's favorite movie and I've seen it way too many times.

On our trash muppet pumpkin Teagan traced her hand on one side and foot on the other for the pumpkin's ears. I don't know why but tracing her feet and hands are one of Tea's favorite things to do.

A Visit from Yaya

Yaya just left our house. We are sad, but we had such a great time with her here. Some of the highlights of the trip were the zoo, Chuck E Cheese, the park, learning to ride a tricycle, and our annual trip to Vegas.

Our trip to Vegas usually includes watching 5-6 lacrosse games and eating lots of food. This year we decided to add a triathlon to our list of activities. I found a sprint tri that would be held at Lake Las Vegas the day we would be in town so I thought it would be perfect for Trevor, Preston, my mom, and myself to do together. I thought I had read on their website that this was a great tri for beginners, but I must of misread that part because the course we encountered was.. well... just check this video out and listen to the girl at the very end describe the course. Had I seen this video before we signed up I'm not sure I would have gone through with it.

It was pretty crazy, but we all finished. Preston did an amazing job and came in first, unfortunately he was disqualified because he missed 3 miles of the bike ride. I must of sensed that he cut some corners and in an effort to help him make up his miles I ended up getting lost and adding several miles to my bike course. Mom took first in her age division and Trevor got the award for the bloodiest face. And we couldn't have done it without our Sherpa, Lance, and the cutest cheerleader ever, Teagan. We all had a great time.

Shower Mischief

I usually try and shower before Lance leaves for work and if that doesn't happen I wait until Tea goes down for her nap. On the rare occasion I take my shower while she is awake I always come out to find a surprise. For example last week Little Tea decided to wash her pj's in the toilet. Well today I found her trying to put deodorant all over her body. I can't wait to see what she'll do next time. What does your child do while you are showering?

Catching up

We loved having Brooke here with us this week. She is definitely our favorite family member and will be paying for her to come back and visit again. We just don't understand how it's possible for one person to be so awesome. We love her so much. She's the best.

A Fun Day with the Family

Thanks to daytrippingmom and just-spotted we had a fantastic day in Long Beach. We took a guided tour of the tidepools here and then headed over to this festival to watch the pirates and then we ended the day here, touching sting-rays, sharks, and star fish. I love family days!

Happy Easter!

Easter was a lot of fun this year. Saturday we took Tea to an Easter Egg Hunt/BBQ. She had a great time with all of the kids and loved the chocolate! Today we went to church and heard some great lessons on the Easter story and then we enjoyed dinner with some friends.

Santa Monica 10K

I did it! I ran a 10k under an hour! It was a beautiful morning and fun race! I have to thank my friend Tiffany for pushing me and helping me reach my goal. After the race we hung out by the beach, Tea loved the sand! We sat in the sand making circles with her hands for about 15 minutes. It was so fun to watch her. Then our friend Stasy made us a great lunch before we headed home. We had a great weekend!
